For Immediate Release: 22nd June 2023

From the city where everyone is welcome, New Orleans is proud to be the Premier Destination Sponsor at Brighton & Hove Pride for 2023.

New Orleans & Company will be bringing a New Orleans flavour to the annual Pride Community parade, taking place on Saturday 5th August, including a float taking to the streets of Brighton & Hove. The free colourful carnival of diversity kicks off Saturday’s festivities and leads the way to the main fundraising event FABULOSO in the Park on Preston Park, which is headlined by the award-winning group Black Eyed Peas. The following day will see Steps perform their only British show in 2023 as the finale to the event.

Mark Romig, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at New Orleans & Company commented, “New Orleans continues to show its commitment to championing freedom and safety. The city has a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s MEI Scorecard, which measures queer inclusivity based on factors such as municipal services, protective laws and LGBTQ leadership. Everything from New Orleans’ history to businesses and bars is a testament to the fundamental and lasting impact our queer community has made on New Orleans’ collective culture.”

Southern Decadence, New Orleans’ largest annual LGBTQ celebration, is a cornerstone of queer culture not just in the city, but in the wider American south. Southern Decadence attracts attendees from all over the world and encompasses street parties, concerts, club events, a parade, and much more.

A melting pot for music, art, history and food, New Orleans is known for its diverse and inclusive population that unite to celebrate like the colours of a riveting sunrise over the banks of the Mississippi River. New Orleans and Brighton & Hove have symmetry on inclusion and diversity, where everyone is welcome in our cities.

Brighton & Hove Pride takes place from Saturday 5th August to Sunday 6th August. FABULOSO in the park will be held at Preston Park, Brighton. Fundraising events will ensure that vital funds continue to be raised for local LGBTQ+ and community projects. Alongside the smiles, sunshine and good times, Brighton Pride’s sole ethos is to promote tolerance, diversity and education within the community.
