Louisiana Fly drive

Thanks to the grand Mississippi River, which runs through its veins, Louisiana has always been where American culture collided with the rest of the world to create a flood of sensory overload and what better way to see it than a fly drive.  Visit Louisiana’s neighbour state Mississippi on your tour as these states are bound together by Civil War and commercial history.  Do it your way…

Suggested itinerary: -

New Orleans
Houma/Thibodaux – Steeped in Cajun tradition and culture, famous for its food, fishing, swamps and music.

Lafayette/New Iberia – Lafayette is swimming in Cajun and Creole cultures and hosts the annual Festival de Musique Acadienne.  Avery Island, located in New Iberia is the home of Tabasco sauce and the oldest salt mine in North America

Lake Charles – the 5th largest city in Louisiana with over 75 festivals held annually.  The first riverboat casino was opened here in May 2005, with dining venues, spa and salon, a pool area complete with lazy river, several retail stores and an 18 hole golf course.

Natchitoches – Long known for its Christmas lighting festival held the first Saturday in December.  The lights continue to brighten the Cane River until after New Year's Day.

Shreveport – Famous for its mix of culture, entertainment, sports, shopping, spicy cuisine, the best in riverboat casinos and thoroughbred racing.

Monroe - Louisiana is known for its food and Monroe-West Monroe is no exception. Many great restaurants serving anything from soul food to sushi.  Monroe is also a sportsman’s paradise, with fishing, hunting and golf.

Vicksburg - Vicksburg boasts rich southern history, breathtaking architecture, terrific arts and culture, shopping and dining.

Natchez – Visit the oldest civilized settlement on the Mississippi River.

Baton Rouge/River Road – Visit the Independence Park Botanical Gardens which includes a rose garden, crape myrtle garden, sensory garden, children's forest and the Louisiana iris garden.  This is the area that is home to some of the most spectacular examples of Antebellum and Plantation Homes you will ever see!
